The MCAA's 2025 Annual Report documents $621 million in annual economic activity — real, significant, and well-earned. But that number captures the commercial terminal. It doesn't capture the FBOs, the corporate flight departments, the charter operators, the GA pilots, or the MRO ecosystem.
That's not a criticism of the MCAA. It's a description of a gap. Their mandate is the terminal. The Coalition's mandate is everything the terminal sits within.
Rochester has the market depth, the corporate aviation users, and the regional talent base to compete for the kind of investment other markets are winning. What it has lacked is a convening body to organize that story.

The Rochester Aviation Coalition is a convening organization — not a lobbying group, not a trade association, not a chamber spinoff. A forum: a structured, recurring conversation among stakeholders who share a stake in Rochester's aviation future.
The Monroe County Airport Authority has no general aviation advisory committee. No community stakeholder forum currently exists for Rochester's broader aviation ecosystem. The Coalition fills that gap — as the organized voice for the community the MCAA serves, not as a critic of it.
We build on what the MCAA is doing well. We tell the half of the story they don't have the mandate to tell.
Convening. Quarterly roundtable breakfasts — 20 to 40 stakeholders, facilitated conversations on substantive aviation topics. This is the Coalition's core activity. The table itself is the product.
Ecosystem development. A working group dedicated to attracting what Rochester is missing: MRO operators, aircraft service centers, dealerships, and training providers. We make the case for Rochester as an investment destination — using the same playbook that other markets have used to win.
Research and advocacy. An annual economic impact report, modeled on the NYSDOT framework the MCAA itself uses, that captures the full aviation ecosystem contribution to Monroe County — GA, corporate aviation, charter, and MRO. A number that currently doesn't exist. One that needs to.
The Coalition is affiliated with the New York Aviation Management Association (NYAMA) — the only statewide aviation management trade association in New York. NYAMA's economic impact framework forms the methodological foundation for the Coalition's annual report work.
We maintain a collaborative, additive relationship with the Monroe County Airport Authority, whose 2025 Annual Report data we reference approvingly throughout our public work.
The Coalition operates informally in year one — reserving the name, running events, building the email list, and establishing the community. If activity warrants it in year two, we will incorporate as a 501(c)(6) trade association. We will be transparent with the community when that decision is made.
